I know that Mazda will charge a fee for updating the map database. I'll try running it on another computer eventually and I might report back results. As usual, people said to run a virus scan and to use the command prompt to renew your IP settings, which of course never do anything. So I really think Mazda is just lying about the program being compatible on Windows 7. I read the thread there and every post was useless, except that Larry did mention that the program apparently worked on his other computer running Windows 10. There is another user with the same issue on a website called WindowsBBS (username LarryB). I downloaded and installed both Mazda Toolbox and Mazda Update Toolbox and when I try to open either one I am greeted with Error 104 and the program can't even open. I have the exact same issue with a 2018 Mazda3. Is anyone out there able to successfully run Mazda Toolbox or Mazda Update Toolbox and get the map updates on Windows 7?īy the way, I realize I also will have to pay to extend my expired updates if I do get this working. Is anyone else out there having this problem? So it appears I'm dead in the water as far as Mazda Toolbox\Mazda Update Toolbox goes. I can't get past this error on two different PCs, a desktop and a laptop, both running Windows 7. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both versions of Toolbox, with and without Run as Administrator, launched both versions of Toolbox with and without Run as Administrator, have turned off all anti-virus and anti-malware software, have searched and searched for solutions and found a few people with the same problem but no solutions. So I ran the old Toolbox to see what would happen and I got the same CONNECTION ERROR 104 message. I noticed that the old Mazda Toolbox had not been uninstalled when I installed Mazda Update Toolbox. When I closed the error pop up the searching for ipdates pop up closed as well and I was back to the desktop again. When I moved that error pop up, behind it was the pop up saying it was searching for updates. When I launched it I right away got a Windows CONNECTION ERROR 104 pop up message. As the email directed I downloaded and installed the latest version of Mazda Update Toolbox (not Mazda Toolbox). Long version - This week I got the email from Mazda to let me know there is a new update for North America maps. Please check your internet connection.' pop up message when I launch Mazda Toolbox or Mazda Update Toolbox while they try to search for updates. Short version - I cannot get past a Windows ' CONNECTION ERROR 104 There has been a problem connecting to the internet. I'm running Windows 7 SP1 on the desktop and laptop that have Mazda Toolbox which Mazda says is still compatible. Before they expired I successfully updated to the most recent maps using Mazda Toolbox. My navigation map updates expired in June 2020.
